Surprize
A horse for the thrill seeker. Sur has kicked and bitten people and even sent one rider to the hospital with a minor commotio cerebri. Even Uncle Pasha lost his favourite glasses while explaining to Sur a horse's place in he scheme of things. Yet he is easy to control. Unlike Romashka or Moonie, he is a follower, and will immediately pick up your state of mind, and act up or calm down accordingly. Slow-to-react lazy people of my ilk will have no problem with him. Those who take sitting on a horse too seriously are likely to get into trouble. Talk to him. Make him turn and step over fallen trees. Keep him from thinking of spooking things in the bushes. If he acts up while you are on the ground, just twist on his pink nose.
Still, please remember that Surprise is a stallion the way nature intended, and is starting to show strength and character. In civilized places male horses used for riding are gelded. Not here because against the pathetic local background even this rose-nosed wimp makes valuable breeding material. Just be aware, and sure stay away from other horses (except ours) should you encounter any on your way. If he does get into a fight with your on top of him, remember that you are safer in the saddle than under their feet. Try to enjoy the sight - that may be the last thing you are seeing in this life. [photo] Please note Sur's official bridle send to us by Gala Argent (www.celestialhorses.com). The bit is as gentle as they ever get. Now are you convinced Sur is a softie? |
