Staritsa to Dubrovki
(May I remind you that the sole reason for this Tver site is to entice you to the Village of Dubrovki to feed giant mosqui...oops, to ride horses in the hills over the Volga river. See www.russian-horse-rides.com for details.)

Why travel to Tver

To Tver from Moscow

The bus station in Staritsa

Alternatives:

A cab, if available, will take you to Ryblovo Quarry ("Ryblovsky Kar'yer" for 100R (just over $3). There I'll meet you with my famous "leaking wooden boat", a phrase I coined for promotional purposes.

Or the same cab will take you to the village of Kholokholnya across a small stream from Dubrovki for 250R ($7-8).

Or I'll meet you in the city.

Or you walk towards the bridge, cross it, go down to the Volga, and walk down (with the flow). I'll be moving towards you with whatever vehicle is appropriate for the weather.

A horse-drawn card going to Staritsa to meet the guests of Dubrovki. Looks romantic but riding one of these is a form of torture. Presently we are having a proper card on spring leaves build for us. Also I've trained horses to travel in a caravan formation and can now take all of them to the town to meet you.

Getting here by bulldozer in February 2004. A 10 km bulldozer ride will typically cost you $10. A view from the bulldozer's cabin.
